Morpheus 8 Fractional Radiofrequency

Morpheus 8 Fractional RF Microneedling Singapore

Providing subdermal remodelling, the Morpheus 8 is a fractional microneedle radiofrequency (RF) device. Able to penetrate multiple depths and utilising a multipolar, stacking RF delivery system, the morpheus 8 is able to ablate deep tissue for strong stimulation, while providing a gentle bulk heating of the skin for overall tightening.

Utilised by many dermatologic and plastic surgeons in the United States, the Morpheus 8 system provides tissue remodelling that is comfortable and safe.

How Does It Work?

The Morpheus8 is a subdermal adipose remodelling device (SARD) that fractionally remodels and contours the face and body. Penetrating deep into the skin and fat, this morphs the aging face or body into a desired smooth and sleek appearance, for all skin tones.

Utilising 24 tiny semi-insulated needles, these pins bypass the skin barrier and deliver radiofrequency energy between 0.5 to 4mm beneath the surface of the skin. This allows for a fully customisable treatment

What Does It Treat?

  • Loose skin – face, tummy, knees, etc
  • Acne scars
  • Cellulite
  • General skin rejuvenation
  • Large open pores
  • Double chin and jowls

How is Fractional Radiofrequency Different from Lasers?

Unlike other modalities of scar treatment and skin rejuvenation (ie. ablative lasers like the carbon dioxide laser), minimal to no heat is delivered to the upper skin surface; in order to stimulate the deep portions of the skin, ablative lasers require high energies and this can result in complications such as further scarring, prolonged downtime, or pigmentary changes.

Fractional RF devices such as the Morpheus 8 bypass the upper part of the skin and deliver maximal heat energies only at the tip of each needle. This ensures highly targeted heating and stimulation with minimal damage to the epidermis, reducing downtime and post-operative complications.

Am I a Candidate for Morpheus 8 Treatments?

The Morpheus 8 fractional radiofrequency treatment acts as a versatile and safe skin tightening treatment in Singapore and remodelling system – used at higher energies, it is capable of remodelling acne, tightening loose skin and providing a lift; used at lower, more superficial settings, the Morpheus 8 provides the necessary stimulation to rejuvenate damaged and thin skin.

In other words, everyone can stand to benefit from the Morpheus 8 treatment! Whether you are looking for milder treatment or deeper and stronger collagen remodelling, fractional RF for acne, the Morpheus 8 is always an option.

What Makes Morpheus Different

FAQs

1. Is the procedure painful?

The procedure is tolerable and usually involves initial numbing with numbing cream for 30 to 45 minutes before the procedure.

2. How long does each session take?

The procedure itself takes approximately 20 minutes.

3. Is there any downtime?

Immediately after the treatment, most patients will have tiny raised bumps on the skin from the heating. Some patients might have pin-point bleeding or tiny bruises. The bumps, or swelling, typically goes down over several hours, and any pinpoint bleeding typically settles over several days. Most patients are fit to return to work a day or two after treatment.

4. What can I expect after treatment?

Typically, scars are lifted and skin tightened immediately after treatment due to the heat and some swelling.

More visible results are typically seen several weeks after treatment and continue to improve over several sessions. Patients report visibly smaller pores, effaced scars, and improved skin quality.

Most patients being treated for scars will need 4-6 monthly treatments, while those who wish to maintain skin quality and tightness will usually require maintenance sessions once every 3-4 months.

5. Are the results permanent?

Depending on the intended outcome, results have variable longevity.

Scars that have been successfully treated can typically be considered to have a permanent improvement; patients can usually expect an improvement of scars by 50-80% after a series of treatments and results last without further treatment.

Patients who wish to tighten loose skin, on the other hand, are fighting continuous changes of aging. As such, maintenance treatments are advised to be done every quarter (after a series of intensive treatments).

In general, the skin requires more stimulation as we get older to maintain optimal quality, and as such, continued treatments at advised intervals ensure your skin is at the top of its game.

6. Can Morpheus 8 Fractional RF be combined with other treatments?

Yes it can and should be!

Fractional RF systems aim at deeper remodelling, and combining with ablative lasers for superficial skin and scar remodelling is a good combination to ensure optimal outcomes.

Furthermore, adding stimulatory treatments such as Rejuran is synergistic, providing damaged tissue with nutrient-rich polynucleotides for cellular growth and tissue remodelling. This ensures that each treatment session’s outcome is maximised.

The need for other scar treatments, such as subcision and fillers, TCA Cross and so on will be decided during your consultation and advised if necessary.

For those requiring tightening at deeper depths, combining the Morpheus 8 with Ulthera (high-intensity focused ultrasound) can provide impressive results.
